Individuals pursuing Level II Certification must possess a current Level I certification. The level II certification covers the following topics: Aggregates for Concrete | Mix Design | Trial Batch Mix Adjustments | Strength Evaluation | Trouble Shooting | MDOT QA/QC Specifications
WRITTEN EXAM
This is a 2 1/2 hour “open book” exam consisting of 50 questions. Students must score 70% or higher to pass.
Your Level II certification will expire at the same time as your current MCA Level I. As a result, technicians can elect to choose from one of the following:
Option 1: Write the Level II exam. With this option, your Level II certification will expire the same year as your current Level I certification.
Option 2: Write the Level II exam AND take the Level I ACI written and performance exams at another class date. By taking the ACI exams in the same certification year, the Level II certification will be extended a full three years and your Level I and II will have the same expiration date. The ACI tests will not be available on the same day as the Level II exam and must be registered for separately. However, there is no additional fee for taking the Level I ACI tests when you register for the Level II course. NOTE: Your Level I expiration date must be good for another year or two to qualify for this option. If your expiration does not fall in this time frame and you expire in the current certification season that you are taking a Level II class in, then you do not qualify for this option and must renew your Level I Certification in a separate class date and pay full class fee.
Please contact our office at 800.678.9622 to register to take the ACI Level 1 written and performance exam.
